The hike in Tatshenshini Alsek Park on the Haines Highway in Canada brings you up close to the Samuel Glacier. You can find all the information and GPS data here.

We weren't really planning on doing a long tour of the Yukon . However, since we already had an ESTA for America (which we needed for our route via the Top of the World Highway from Tombstone to Kluane National Park ), we decided to do the round trip back to Whitehorse . So we drove along the Haines Highway toward the town of the same name. Conveniently, we passed Tatshenshini Alsek Park .

A hiker told us that you can get very close to the glacier here.

Kluane National Park & Reserve, together with Tatshenshini-Alsek Provincial Park in the south in British Columbia and Wrangell-St. Elias National Park in the west, forms one of the largest nature reserves in the world.

After our adventures on Slim River West, the length of the trip and the river crossing seem like a Sunday stroll. However, the view of Samuel Glacier is spectacular, and we don't regret coming here for a second.
