This easy snowshoe hike in the Chiemgau Alps in Germany with a wonderful view of the eponymous Chiemsee leads from the Hindenburghütte across the Hemmersuppenalm area to the valley station of the gondola lift at the Seegatterl car park.
You can find all information and GPS data here.
The perfect beginners' tour
The relatively flat Hemmersuppenalm is a popular (winter) hiking and cross-country skiing area that is easily accessible with the Hindenburghütte shuttle bus. From here you have a wonderful view of Lake Chiemsee.
My tip: If you want to make a bit more effort, you can of course do the tour the other way round
The Hindenburg Hut sits at 1260 m above sea level with a view of Lake Chiemsee! The hut, which was originally used for military purposes, has been owned by the Dirnhofer family for many decades. There are hearty alpine delicacies from the wood-fired oven and traditional music from the band Bergfex'n Trio, in which hut owner Günter Dirnhofer also plays. A 4 km long natural toboggan run also leads from the Hindenburg Hut down into the valley to Blindau!
